Rising Stars of Betsafe-LKL Lithuanian basketball league
This week in Betsafe-LKL Lithuanian basketball league is featuring some new players in its Dream Team selection. Although the players are well known for the league fans, it’s the first time for most of them to rise into the prestigious group of the 5 most efficient players of the week — the Dream Team. Let’s take a closer look at the stars and their team’s achievements:
Forward: Simas Jarumbauskas — The Game Week’s MVP
Leading the Dream Team is the forward Simas Jarumbauskas from Pieno, who earned an impressive 31 efficiency points. Jarumbauskas’ performance was nothing short of phenomenal, making him the Most Valuable Player of the week. His main dominance was his rebounding skills, with 15 rebounds collected. Noteworthily, he scored 19 points and 5 assists on top of that, leading his team Pieno to win against Jonava 89–84.
Forward: Carlos Jurgens
Next to Jarumbauskas we will find the Estonian forward Carlos Jurgens from Nevežis with an impressive 28 efficiency points. Jurgens is the player every coach is looking for — he scored 21 points, gave 9 assists and gathered 4 rebounds. He has been very close to the Dream Team’s lineup before, offering great spectacles and inform performance. This week he was the key to Nevežis success over Lietkabelis (106–94) and have rightfully owned the place in the Dream Team.
Guards: Arnas Velička and Sean McNeil
Defending the backcourt, we have Rytas’ experienced guard Arnas Velička, who earned 22 efficiency points. Rytas showed a very strong game against Gargždai, winning the game 110–79. Velička led the way with 13 points scored, 7 rebounds and 8 assists. He has performed well in past games and when choosing a guard to your fantasy lineup, you can never overlook Arnas Velička from Rytas.
Joining Velička, we will find Sean McNeil, the guard from Nevežis. For the past two games McNeil has gathered 28 efficiency points, showcasing his strong skills as an agile guard. With 2 rebounds and 3 assists, Sean McNeil is also taking home the best point scorer of the week award with 29 points scored, helping Nevežis win against Lietkabelis.
Center: Deante Johnson
Rounding up the Dream Team is the center, Deante Johnson from Pieno, with 30 efficiency points. Throwing 25 points and gathering 7 rebounds Johnson is a noteworthy newcomer to the Dream Team — with this kind of dominance he will likely show up in next week’s list too. His rebounding and scoring ability made him a central figure in his team’s strategy to win against Jonava.
