KML Champion — Pärnu Sadam! Why and how to collect cards from this historic season?
Pärnu Sadam has made a history, they are the new champions of Estonia! Beating in the final series Tartu Ülikool Marks&Moorits 3:0 was enough to bring the title home for the first time in their club’s history. How you can really own a piece of history? What’s the reason for doing it?
We started with Cryplect a year ago when we did a pilot project with BC Kalev Cramo. It was so successful that we decided to go and knock the doors of Estonian Basketball Association. We signed an agreement of making digital collectibles for all the clubs playing in Paf Estonian Latvian Basketball League. In the beginning of this year, we developed a fantasy game “CryplectPlay” for local basketball fans in order to follow their favourable teams in more detail.
Now, as the season ended and we have had the CryplectPlay available for a few months, it’s time to look at the collections again. As we previously mentioned then this season was historic and you have the chance of owning a piece of it.
Why to collect Pärnu Sadam’s cards?
It’s a question that some of the new users have asked several times. Let’s dig into what are the cards really about.
Some of the basketball fans remember physical paper basketball cards from the childhood. We used to collect them, put them to our albums to show them to our friends. It was the first time that we really owned something from the game. Every card had different rarities and getting them randomly from purchased pack was just a fun thing to do.
Now, we are facing a digital era when everything possible transfers from physical to digital. So did movie rentals (now we have Netflix), so did government documentation in Estonia (now we have everything online) and so did basketball cards (now we have… Cryplect). When in the childhood basketball cards were meant for collecting only, then now, we have an utility to sell them on a marketplace as well as play fantasy league with them in order to win prizes.
Collecting the cards is like an investment. You can predict which players are going to develop into superstars and as their following raises, so does your cards. For example, if you believe that some of the Pärnu’s players will feature in Estonian national team and/or will play in some higher division, you can sell their card in the future for a bigger amount of money because most probably we will have Cryplect in other basketball leagues in the following years and their value in those leagues will be higher than they are currently.
The other reason is to own a piece of history. What if Pärnu will never win Estonian league again? If they do, the players that did it for the first time will be written in bold into the history books. There’s another reason for collecting the cards because it’s like a fine wine that raises in value in year by year.

- From the Cryplect Marketplace - most of the Pärnu Sadam’s players (Common and/or Rare)
PS! Packs are sold out at the moment but soon we will release an extra pack so you can buy the players from this season from packs as well.
By owning a card, gives you several utilities. Firstly, you can collect and trade them with other basketball fans. Secondly, you can play CryplectPlay play-to-earn fantasy game and win prizes. In the future, there will be additional utilities for the users.
CryplectPlay function
In order to participate in our fantasy league game CryplectPlay, you have to own at least 3 cards. Cards can be purchased from the packs (soon releasing one) or from the marketplace. Every week, starting from the first game, you can predict which players are going to earn the most points. Your players will bring you points and you can win prizes bi-weekly, monthly and seasonally.
As every user wants to earn as many points as possible, it’s important to know that each tier (shown on the card) gives you a bit different amount of points.
How to collect?
Collecting cards is simple. First, go to cryplect.com and register your user in few minutes. Then, go to either packs site or to the marketplace. Select the pack or a player that you would like to buy. Press “select and buy” button and you can check out.
Your card will be transferred to your virtual wallet that is only available for your user. Then you can select “my collection” and see the purchased card(s). Now you can just collect it or put it up for a sale. On top of the right corner you will see CryplectPlay button. In the following weeks we will start with Summer Bench League and you can start collecting points with your cards. PS! In order to participate you have to own at least 3 cards.
